Is chio really that bad?
by: pnmI’m a pnm for next year and I’m wondering if chio’s sisterhood is really as bad as everyone is saying on here?

As someone who is very close with members of chi o, I would say that it is very superficially close, if that makes any sense? There are a lot of cliques and many people feel left out. Even the people in the cliques have a “I’ll help you if you help me” kind of mentality. From personal experience, especially from my friends, it doesn’t seem like a very close knit group and there are a lot of excluded people. If you’re looking for an actual sisterhood, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

I recommend you formulate your own opinions on the sororities instead of checking greek rank! Im sure you’ll meet lots of different sorority girls in the fall and get to see for yourself what they’re like. Chi o is a great place for some people, and for other people it’s not! Greek rank doesn’t necessarily display the common opinion of all sororities because not all sororities use it and other sororities self rank a lot. So my recommendation is to meet girls from every sorority and decide who you click with the best! That’s what’s so awesome about having so many sororities is that you get to choose which one is right for you!

to be completely blunt, the kind of sorority girls that use greek rank are just trying to make their sorority look good and that often happens by tearing others down. the sororities with the best rush typically get more hate bc other girls want pnms to go their sorority instead of the more “popular” ones. in my experience, there are bad eggs in every sorority so take the info you get on here with a grain of salt. You truly don’t know what a specific sorority is like unless you’re in it, so I’m not really sure why people attack the ones they aren’t in.

Not sure what is fueling these negative remarks about Chi O, but this happens often when a sorority has a strong presence and a successful rush.
All my interactions with Chi O’s have been positive and the members are very supportive of each other and involved on campus.
