single bidding
by: pnmHey y’all I’m a pnm this year and I have a chapter I have loved from day 1 and a chapter that I have been trying to cut since day one left. It’s not that I think the chapter is bad, I’ve had great experiences with all 9 chapters. However, I just don’t click with the girls like I have others. I know they say it doesn’t hurt you to just put one down tonight but I was wondering if this was true? I honestly don’t think I would accept a bid from the second and I think I’d rather be able to COB if my first choice doesn’t give me a bid. Thanks I’m advance!

to just be seeing this. You might have heard the rumor that the computer will kick out your choice if your single intentional preference (SIP), but that is FALSE. You can choose to list just one chapter without penalty. If you do not match (meaning that they fill to their quota figure-the maximum they can bid during formal recruitment), then you won't have a bid. However, that means that you could participate in COB (informal recruitment).

If you know you would absolutely not accept a bid from your 2nd choice then SIP. If you are cut at least you would be able to participate in COB or be eligible for a snap bid. That being said, if you end up without a bid you are unlikely to receive on in the future if you decide to go through recruitment again. Once cut...

You should only list one house if you know you wouldn't accept the bid from the second house. Someone who wants that house can get it, and you don't have to worry about dropping later. That said, it's HIGHLY unlikely that you will get the house you love or a house that dropped you during COB. You could get lucky and get one that you dropped maybe, but even then it's iffy.
