rush as a junior...

by:

I am thinking of rushing a sorority as a junior. I have heard not many sororities want juniors because of this I have not gone to any sub dinners. Is it worth rushing as a junior? Is it too late to start going to the sub dinners?

Any advice or feedback would help thanks!

Worth it? Yes I know people that have and gotten in to a top four.

However realize you are facing a uphill battle. Sub dinners is a must, and you really should start networking if you haven't already. \n\n\n\n\n

To whoever is reading this in 2020+, I rushed as a junior and made my top 3 until preference day (was invited to Zeta, Alpha Chi Omega, and Alpha Phi on sisterhood day) then was dropped by all of them. I was falsely told that I was accepted into 2 of these before pref day. It was super upsetting for me to hear this news especially while I was in the same room as the rest of the girls rushing. I was so embarrassed being older and felt like such an outcast. Before rushing, I was told that being an older girl rushing would guarantee me into any sorority I wanted to be in. This info is totally false. Join the sorority you fit into and what makes you happy!

It's definitely worth it and you should go for it. Like said above, you need to start going to sub dinners asap. You can definitely still get a bid though, even though sororities don't necessarily want a lot of juniors, not that many juniors rush so you will stand out a little more.

If worse comes to worst you can always drop! Just go through rush and try it out
