cob / snap bids
by: greekHow do you get a snap bid/COB for a sorority you want if you got through to sisterhood day before getting cut? How do you find out if they’re even doing COB/snap bids?

If you got cut from all of the houses or suicided and didn't get a house, you should qualify for snap bids. The houses that don't make quota - ADPi for sure - will have snap bids. The key is, you just can't have rejected a bid. If you did, you are disqualified from rushing for 12 months.

By greek -- if you signed a contract and got a bid, but rejected it, you don't qualify. If you got cut by everyone prior to Pref, you qualify to be able to have a snap bid extended to you. Not 100% certain if you got to the end and had 1-2 houses you didn't want to visit on pref day, technically you didn't sign a contract. Hopefully you still qualify!

Normally if a chapter is under quota, they could possibly hold snap bids or do informal recruitment anytime throughout the semester. Its a little too late for snap bids since bid day is already happening. Informal recruitment It’s pretty lowkey tho, if you’re still interested in joining Greek life I would definitely contact the Panhellenic office and ask to see if there will be any opportunities out there for cob. If you’re dead set on a certain chapter and you’re not sure if they’re doing informal rush I would make connections with the people in that chapter so they can let you know if they’re hosting a cob event.
