top tier?

I'm really confused about what exactly it is that makes people say some groups are "top tier" or "bottom tier" or "one is higher than the other". What are the qualities that these so called top groups have that are so much better than others? If it's wealth, Kappa is top hands down. Athleticism? That's Pi Phi. If it's based on campus involvement and academics, Tri-delta is definitely top. Based on being the most Christian and caring? Chi- O. The most fun-loving? Then it's Theta. Most eccentric? That's Zeta. Most diverse? Probably AXO. Most accepting? ADPi.
You can't say it's the houses that all the girls want during rush, because every girl goes into rush wanting something different. Some want girls to party with, others want girls to help them grow spiritually or academically. It's different for everyone, so I'm just confused as to why everyone thinks they know what the "top tier" sororities are, because it seems like that should be a personal opinion.

It's about tradition, and which organizations have been involved at Baylor the longest, while maintaining the best reputations. Kappa, Pi Phi, DDD, and XO all have long histories at Baylor, and that's why many girls that had parents that went to Baylor go into rush wanting those four, because those are the ones their parents remember or were in. I do agree with you though, it should be a personal opinion which are top because it really is different for every girl going into rush.

The poster and #2 is right\n\n\n\n\nPKT is big because of its strengh in Texas
XO and DDD have been big because of their more religous attitude
and yes AXO and ADPi are good on being diverse and accepting, but these are generally categories that are not evaluated into being top
