unbiased views on sororities
by: WöwI’m just wondering people’s unbiased reviews on the sororities. Either a guy or an unaffiliated girl please answer. The self ranking is annoying so I want peoples opinions who aren’t in one

Remember each sorority is going to have pretty much all the same types of girls in each. Some follow patterns more than others, but overall the only differences between all of them are just the socially-created reputations created by the student body over the years. If one group says they’re the best and another is the worst, people will believe it. The Greek system is kinda messed up that way. Everything is relative.
But from my interactions with the different sororities and campus reputations over the last 4 years:
ADPI: The Greeks have unfortunately set the stereotype for this house being the lowest. I’m not sure why they got picked, but every college always assigns a “lowest.” Remember, everything is relative. ADPI’s tend to be welcoming/friendly, intelligent, witty, hardcore at Intermurals, but overall quiet around campus. However, I’ve also met some ADPI’s that came off as a little rude or harsh themselves. I sometimes sense a lot of bitterness from some of their girls, but I would be bitter too if people were as rude to me as some are to them.
AXO: Overall, the best way I can describe these girls is “beer buddies.” They’re usually down to earth, funny, bold, individualisitic/original, and always down to do something fun (in a good way). There are other members who are down for something fun (in a bad way), but you’ll have girls like that in every house. Some just hide it better than others. It’s college though, I’d rather you be genuine about it than a hypocrite.
XO: This is probably the house I’ll have a hard time being unbiased about just because of my interactions with them on campus. These girls have the socially-given stereotype of the “religious sorority”, the camp counselors, mission trip enthusiasts, and choco-wearers. They’re frequently professors’ “aww what a sweet girl” students. Some are very intelligent, some are not so intelligent. Very bubbly, cute (some not so cute), and generally well-liked by everyone on campus. My hold up is that they can sometimes be like annoying middle-school girls (i.e. sitting in groups of 3-5 in the silent area of moody, giggling at people as they walk by). That cliqueyness is my catch with them, but I think it’s part of their “innocent” thing. Overall, it’s a good group of girls, just not my cup of tea.
DDD: These girls are given the “try-hard/soccer mom” stereotype. Although it’s meant to be insulting, it’s a pretty accurate measure of their accomplishments. They are good at winning things and they’re proud of it (which any house should be). They’ve got good GPA, good intermurals, many good looking girls (and some bad looking), and are usually in leadership roles. The only bad thing is because they’re usually so good at stuff, a lot of them seem to be sore losers/bitter when they don’t win at things. Others can be a stick in the mud. But I’ve seen both types in the sorority (As with every other sorority. Everything is relative.)
(I’ll post the rest in the comments)
