tips for rush
by: Dallas rusherHey all! I want to join a great frat but have no idea where to start. Can someone give me some pointers and tips? Firstly and most importantly, how do I rush? Also, what should I say or do that makes me look cool in a frats eyes? What about dress attire? I was told by a friend (in a sorority) to dress more preppy, is this true? Thanks!

Rush whomever you want, but Fair and Honest is the most realistic options for you
Sigma Chi is no longer here
SAE will be difficult and ultimately will be a mismatch if you were to receive a bid
In regards to the other traditional/top fraternities they will also not be your type
You should of probably have gone to A&M, Baylor is a private school who typically attract "city types"-preppy

dont concern yourself with stupid stuff like attire because your attitude and personality will land you in a good fraternity. if you do care about that stuff, you will figure out appearance when you get here. other than that, go out to parties and meet the guys, because every fraternity has city and country boys.

I appreciate all the serious advice and concerns. I came on here for serious tips-not to be ridiculed. I'm sure all of you were so fratty in high school too, bow ties and all. I am very serious about rushing and would like this post to serve others who have similar concerns.
Thanks again. Keep the advice rolling

Just go to all the fraternities' rush events and see which ones you fit in with the best. You sound like an ATO already though. Also go to the activities night in the SLC where fraternities set up tables and you can meet/sign up on their rush lists. Im also from frisco so good luck.

Why would SAE be difficult? Are they hard to get into? What does traditional mean?
