contractuall obligation
by: COBI really want to rush alpha phi but they said I can’t since I preffed sororities and signed the contract. Can they really stop us from rushing alpha phi? How could they possibly force us to not go to alpha phis recruitment process? If I just show up what are they really going to do lol. I’m not happy with the sorority I got and I really want to rush alpha phi. I don’t think legally, they could stop me.

#5by: MRABAs are binding
You signed the MRABA (pref card) saying you would accept either of the sororities on it. You chose to not honor your obligation (the MRABA). Now you are out for a FULL YEAR. This is a binding agreement followed by ALL of the NPC groups on campus, including Alpha Phi. Alpha Phi knows who is on each group's official bid list from formal recruitment whether you choose to accept it or not. You're out. Even if you "show up" to Alpha Phi's events, they cannot and will not give you a bid...because they cannot. Collegiate Panhellenic and the chapter you bailed on will make sure. That's how it works.

You can still rush Alpha Phi! We realize so many quality girls didn't get the sorority they deserved, so we made special arrangements with Baylor and the NPC to take some of those girls who aren't where they should be. Come see us and talk to us! If you meet our standards, we'll get you out of your obligation. Come join the Ivy League!

Don't listen to the post above^
Just google MRABA (Membership Recruitment Acceptance Binding Agreement) and you'll see that it is a REAL binding agreement at ALL schools with all Panhellenic groups. Sorry you didnt fully understand what you were signing but Alpha Phi cant give you a bid and you cant accept a bid if you signed the MRABA.
If you are still unsure and don't believe it, contact Baylor's Assistant Director of Greek Life

Think of it this way:
"They" are not stopping you. YOU stopped you when you signed the binding agreement on pref night.
And as the poster above pointed out, Alpha Phi is not stopping you from "joining" them...they are stopping THEMSELVES from offering you a BID to join b/c they have a unanimous agreement with the rest of the 25 other NPC sororities that they will not offer bids to women who entered into binding agreements with another sorority for a FULL CALENDAR YEAR.
