the truth

by: yup

Just want to let PNMs know that the process is mostly really fake and superficial. Some sororities already scoped out who they want and it’s based on looks, wealth, and who you were associated with in high school (this is more applicable to japs as some don’t have that sorority personality at all but has the wealth and association part down). Freshmen, don’t be fooled. These sophomores were best friends with the girls that are in their sororities from the first month of freshman year. The whole finding your people thing they advertise is so fake. Good luck!

There are a few sororities with really biased selection processes and even one that “chooses” their NMC in advance

Adpi confirmed chooses their new members in advance, like months earlier.

So what? Sororities aren't honor societies where you get in on merit. They are social clubs. You think sororities would choose someone they have only ever talked to for 10 minutes at a recruitment party over someone they have known for awhile? Of course sororities pick their friends for membership. The process favors relationships over anything else and you can't 'un-know' someone that you already know. But there are always spots for unknown girls who walk through the door and make an impression. Always. Every year. So what's your point, other than you didn't get in a house you wanted?

Because upperclassmen girls are obviously gonna want to get to know girls of one side of the spectrum.. rich and pretty girls.. which gives into privilege. It's just misleading that the whole finding your friends theme is a thing when really its not.
