Why do people always hate on lower tier sororities so much?

I'd like to see a good answer to this. Are peopl so concerned with their social status that they have to make fun of others to stay on top? Someone humor me, why do we make fun of lower tiers? They are human just like everyone else. Maybe they aren't the prettiest maybe they are a little weird. Who cares? That's the thing about diversity. No one is the same, so why make fun of people for their differences? Why do we have to be so vicious to each other?

Because groups of girls care more about being in a social class and guys care more about becoming friends with the guys in their house
