fraternity and sorority buddies

Do sororities have a certain fraternity that they were like "buddies" with? I hear rumors but never have gotten an actual answer

I think some sororities may hang with certain frats but it's not a legit thing I don't think.

You could say that is kinda true. Delta Zeta and Delta Tau Delta are close, Alpha Xi Delta and Theta Chi, Delta Sigma Phi and Alpha Gamma Delta too.
