should greek week be overhauled?

I think a common issue with most chapters was that it was incredibly hard to get members new and old to actually show up and do events. There seemed to be a larger lack of interest this year more than others.
I think one major issue is that when it comes down to it there isn't really a prize for winning. You get to trophy, bragging rights for about a month, and then it's over. No factor into President's Cup, no insentive. They try to feed you that it's Greek unity, but the entire buildup is trying to out class each other and find ways to throw other groups under the bus.
Not to mention the money "raised" for charity is slightly untrue too. We don't really raise money. We get charged $5 for Greek God and Greek Sing and that's us "raising" money. One we get points for and the other is generally required by chapters. The charity is not something anyone actually cares about.
Then there's the repetition from year to year. Take formal sing for example. Off the top of my head at least 9 organizations sang a song that they've sang in the last 3 years. 5 of which sang a song they sang a year before. There's no spins, no twists, nothing to differentiate year to year except the theme and even then pretty much anyone Sing could be used.
I think Greek Week has gotten to the point where it needs to change. Be something different to even the playing field a bit.

Part 2/2
Every year the same people do well at the same events. AST is good at performances, Phi Kap should be 5 year in a row winners at Greek Sing, Sig Nu is good at Greek God, Gamma Phi can sing too, DX does volleyball.
New events would level the playing field and be different.
Furthermore I don't think that a single charity should be picked. I think that the money raised should be a pot of sorts and the top 3 split the money by a percent perhaps 25% winner 15% 2nd 10% 3rd between both sorority and fraternity chairities. A free 1500 towards someone's philanthropy would get people to care.
Something needs to change and I'd be curious iof peoples thoughts

The comments on here saying that none of the shows were good or they were all boring is honestly heartbreaking. These comments are coming from two groups: 1)AGDs and/or PhiKaps 2) People who have never done greek sing.
AGDS and PhiKaps - Your whole show was about empowerment. The reason this whole debate is happening in the first place is because you guys made a powerful stance about the way we treat others and supporting people. So why are you on here trying to put down other shows? Everyone's show was incredible and deserves to be applauded and recognized for their efforts. If you are going to pride yourselves on doing a show that speaks towards empowering others, especially women, why are you on here trying to degrade the hard work of others, especially the hard work of the sorority women who put together other shows.
But I do think most of you are above this. I think most of the hate is from people who have never done greek sing, and let me tell you guys, you have NO right to put down any of the shows from this year, from the past, or in the future.

Well this thread wasn't intended to be a debate on Phi Kap and AGD it was intended to be a discussion on how to improve greek week, but now that it's been mentioned, yes shows can be bad.
There were indeed bad shows this year. It's a fact. Just because people have worked hard doesn't mean the show is automatically good. As someone who did Greek sing for 4 years there's obviously been a slew of bad shows.
The real issue is assuming that comments are coming from a certain group. Not in either of them, and can straight up say despite the work put into my show, it sucked. That's the truth.

I like the idea of the philanthropy money raised going to the chapter philanthropies that won Greek Week, as well as 2nd place and 3rd place getting some money toward their philanthropies, too. I know the chairs and GLO staff and will propose that to them for next year
