I think the tiers are a bunch of BS. Depending on who you ask will make others higher than other organizations. For example if I had to do it for sororities I'd put

DZ/SK
AST/AOPi/ZTA
G Phi B/ AGD/ A Phi

Now there's going to be a lot of people who disagree with that, but that's ok. You girls need to stop putting each other down. You survey 100 different random people who somewhat know Greek life and you'll get a wide mix. If all depends.

Some sororities have big heads and think too highly of themselves. Y'all, here's how it is

AGD, ZTA, DZ
SK, APHI, AST
GPHI, AOII

I think it would more reasonably be put as
APHI & DZ/AGD & ZTA (tier 1)
GPHIB/AST/AOII/SK (tier 2)

I really think Duquesne is too small to have more than 2 tiers, honestly, and I'm predicting that that's going to be the split for recruitment.

Tiers going into this spring recruitment i would say:

Potential new members, tiers dont mean anything at duquesne, its too small of a school to have set "tiers: Everyone in a sorority has friends in most other sororities. there is competition between the different chapters but at the end of the day there is a respect they each have for each other and everyone shows up for different philanthropy events. Being in a sorority does not mean you cant have friends in other sororities or friends who are not in greek life. each sorority has different personalities within it, dont base your judgement off one or two girls because each chapter has a few not so nice people. Find the chapter you feel most comfortable with and don't feel like you should or need to follow where youre friends are going, you can still be friends if you end up in different sororities. Good luck everyone (:

I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with you. Any school with more than 2 or 3 sororities that participates in a formal recruiting process has tiers. Just because people in each sorority have friends in other sororities doesn't mean tiers don't exist, it just means we have a solid Greek system that encourages everyone to be friends no matter what. There are chapters on this campus that consistently do better than others, thus creating tiers. Just because our sororities don't have 300 members each doesn't mean tiers are magically not there, they're just a part of life. You are correct though in that freshman shouldn't base decisions off of tiers because they're going to end up in a chapter that's thrilled to have them no matter what

I agree with #8. You can say that sororities consistently do better than others, but that is not reflected in these tier rankings. Retention rates, GPAs, socials, other awards mean nothing in these ranks. You're going based on ideas of "hot"ness. Sororities who are "falling" in looks remain at the top because in the past they had attractive members. (Even though they don't now...)

Four sororities constantly at the bottom: AOII, GPhiB, SK, AST.

All four of those sororities have done well. They've pulled in attractive girls. They've had many socials with "top" frats (SAE or Sig Tau). They've won awards and other Greek Life recognitions. Yet they remain at the bottom because they don't recruit based on looks. Although their last pledge classes turned out better looking than some of the "top" sororities.

One could argue AGD and ZTA don't recruit based on looks but we all know this site is trolled by them, or why else would they remain at the top. What has ZTA done to deserve to be the top? ... I mean even though AGD pulled a less attractive and less involved pledge class in comparison to the bottom four I mentioned, the sorority as a whole has done decently. Their older members are involved, they had highest GPA last year. I could at least understand why they'd be at the top/middle if these ranks were based on who is doing well. But they aren't. They're based on who used to be the most attractive and who cares to troll this site the most.

'^^^' above me is 100% correct. Most of the rankings here and the "tiers" are based off of looks entirely, and sororities who don't fit into this mold are consistently pushed to the bottom because they're not considered as attractive as the top tier sororities once were,.

All of this being said, ALL sororities have hot girls, ALL sororities have smart girls, ALL sororities have kind girls, and sometimes (this is groundbreaking I know) it's possible to be ALL THREE and still be in what is considered a "bottom tier sorority" on Greek rank. This website is irrelevant, let every chapter show who they are and gain new sisters during recruitment without being harassed for choosing people they like.

Get outta here. If you can honestly say there isn't a defined tier system of better and worse at this school, you do not participate in the system.
