sorority legacies
by: Curious FreshmanIf I'm a legacy, does that mean I'm automatically going to be in that specific sorority if I rush?

No. It does mean that the sorority will be aware of your legacy (if you put it on your app or someone has filled out a rec for you) & they will be required by their bylaws to ask you back for a certain number of functions. In other words, they can't (or won't) automatically cut you. That being said, if there is mutual "like" by both sides, you will get bid priority over others. We had a few legacies in our chapter -- I have to say I don't ever remember cutting a legacy. Typically, the legacy cut us -- figured out we were the wrong place/fit for them. That's the best outcome, because feelings aren't hurt and the rusher ends up where they want to be ( or not where they don't want to be).
