It was actually here up to 1990. The 1989 rush was much lower due to lower women rushing that spring and a new sorority coming on campus that really actively advertised to freshman women... with a huge recruitment their opening year. The 3 smaller sororities were negatively impacted, especially KD. The sorority felt pretty bad about how rush went that year and their heart wasn't into it the following. KD National came and the decision was made to close the chapter.

Comment #10 is accurate -- I graduated in '90. At the time, sorority participation at Duke was also in a general decline, in part because fraternities lived together (on campus) while sororities did not.
