does dg get bands

The answer to title is yes but:

Greek life is less about bands and more ab mixers, closed events, and a permanent social life. Besides ChiO and ChiPsi/DKE etc irrelevant frats, you will get absorbed into a very large social network as soon as you join.

Even the social, normal independents dont have >30 close friends they hang out with on a regular basis. (Almost) any frat/srat has 40+ members that you will be very close with soon after you join and then add ~50 people on average you “know”’ for every group your group mixes with and it adds up quickly.

Even the most social independents from freshmen year are now still hanging out with the same little dorm group as the second week on campus.
By now, as a greek if you met anyone “new” in greek life there is 100% chance you know someone in common, take that for what you will.
