Dayton Audio SUB-1000 or 1200?

by:

Hey guys, I'm facing a tough decision and have nowhere else to turn. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

I recently picked up a pair of Edifier 1700BTs bookshelf speakers and I'm looking to get a sub woofer to fill out the bass. My audio setup is primarily for listening to music (hip hop, edm ,etc.). My first thought was to get the Dayton Audio SUB-1200, since its deeper and louder than the SUB-1000, but some people have warned me that this sub might be too big/overpowering for my setup.

Should I go with the smaller SUB-1000 or stick with the SUB-1200? The price difference is only $30 and I'm not too concerned about space - just sound. Thanks in advance!!!

Hey guys, thanks for the overwhelming response. I actually ended up going with the 10" woofer just because it was in stock and Parts Express customer service told me that I wouldn't be able to get the 12" until March. Plus, I already got yelled at by an RA for the music being too loud, so this might be for the best.

Thanks again! I will make sure to keep you all updated when it arrives!
