why is ksig trending up?

the last two years people stayed away, but they honestly seem to be doing pretty well this year. What's changed? Is it that Dsig also got kicked off, making it more acceptable to be off? Not saying Ksig is even close to Dsig, (probably will never reach them) but they're doing a lot better...can someone explain?
