Okay..... so I don’t know much but I will get into this a little. As an independent guy at this school it is very hard to get into certain parties (especially DTD and Pike). I feel like this school should be open to people who may not be into the fratty frat scene when we wanna have some fun. Duke for everyone.

This post was so obviously written by a DTD lol. In no context is DTD ever on the same level as Pike and DTD parties are as hard to get into as an SLG event hosted at Devines announced on Facebook Events.

Geeds just want to jump into the fun without doing all the work. The fraternities like to limit the attendees because parties aren't free (believe it or not alcohol, busses, decorations, and the venue all cost money) and they face the consequences of the partygoers' actions. If some random geed who can't hold his alcohol gets EMSed at a party, it's the fraternity that gets screwed over by Duke's administration.

gdi girls and random freshmen get bands to parties all the time. Not disputing your facts (def reduces liability) but maybe not the best or most honest comparison

Girls get bands because they're girls and no matter how you put it, they add "value" to a party. Freshmen get bands because a lot of them have potential to be future brothers.

Exactly. Geed guys are the only ones left out because they don't offer anything to a party. Girls add to a party due to obvious reasons. Giving freshmen bands is an investment as they're pnms

Lol so y'all geeds can come awkwardly stand around, ruin the guy/girl ratio, drink alcohol we had to pay for, and end up passing out and getting EMSed, for which we bear the liability? Nah, parties are much better closed.
