actual advice please
by: 2022Current soph, didn't rush last year. Tbh, being independent really sucks. Is there any real advice people can give for rushing frats soph year?

For mid tier and above, get solid connections (3-5) people in the frat who will 100% vouch for you. Lower mid I think if u just rush and chill you’ll get in, would help to have friends though. Bottom tier equal odds as freshman. Sophomore is much much more difficult, but know that Greek life kinda dies out after sophomore year & everyone cares less so don’t stress. Best of luck

Some kid deleted this the first time - but just wanted to clarify I agree that brotherhood doesn’t die. The social ranking/who u mix with stuff no longer matters

If you’re a sophomore your best bet is Pike, ATO, or PiKapp. You’re going to want to know at least 5 brothers very well and will only get a bid if you had a pretty good reason not for not joining freshman year. You’ll know if you have a chance if you’re brought around a lot fall semester.
Tough but not impossible are SigEp and DTD. About the same as the higher frats, but you only need to know at least like 2 brothers very well.
For all the others you stand about an equal chance as a freshman.

you should have at least a few close friends if you want to have a good chance, if not then start meeting more members now

That's decent advice but I wouldn't say greek life dies sophomore year at all. If you're at a great fraternity/brotherhood those will be your friends for life
