what’s the solution?

by: sorority truth

All of the aggressive posts on here about wanting to keep Greek life, Greek life promoting friendship, Greek life being inclusive are all from boys in fraternities. I’m not say that frats are more diverse because it’s face it, it’s still 95% white, something about its rush process seems more fair from a girls stand point. It is much more rare for find girls in sororities to so fiercely fight for their organization to stay on campus on the grounds of fairness and inclusiveness. Having gone through the rush process from a freshman and on the other side before for 2 years, the rush process is just morally wrong. Unfair in all aspects and has caused three times more damage than being in a sorority has benefited. All of the friendships are fake and many great people don’t get bids due to reasons such as wealth, high school, the “right” friends. You could be a pretty, wealthy, girl with a nice personality and still not get a bid OR be stuck in a sorority that really isn’t for you (which sometimes is worse than not getting a bid at all)

I would agree... while both sides of greek like are problematic I think sororities in my experience are way more detrimental and petty. I think the solution would be to get rid of sororities first but I don't think there is a way to get rid of half of greek life and not the other
