snu and money

by:

Snu is always bragging about how much money they have. But after investigating even a little I realized a lot of them don't even how that much or any more than the average kid at Duke.

How much money do they on average have or how is that varied in the frat? Optionally, any comments on the other frats?

"Must suck to be an outsider looking in."

Not at all, I'm actually in a much better position than most Snus in terms of my family money, and I don't care to show off but I definitely don't feel like I'm missing out on much by not being part of their poorer circle

I'd have to say that you are pathetic agreeing with Curiosity. He's not bragging as much as just denying that he doesn't miss out or feel left out of Snu because of their money. Someone made a nasty comment, that it must suck to be poor and outside that group, which I think is great to disarm like he did. Of course you're probably jealous and think anyone who talks about their money is trying to show up cause you're poor.

Yeah Snu has very little money to be frank. AdPhi is more commonly having the kids with actual money like enough to be considered wealthy. Snu probably pulls a few members every year with families making over 500k a year. And even if there are more, they are almost guaranteed not to make much more than 500k-700k a year. That is their extent of wealth and they will pride themselves about that when it's really not that rich.

There are a rare few kids In that make over a few million maybe through all the pledge classes every four years but that's also there in every frat.

Lol it's pretty pathetic that wealth would even be a talking point for frats here and quite frankly it's even more pathetic that you would take the time to investigate wealth....
I hear too many references that top tier recruits the most wealthy but lol this is not always the case ...I know a guy in a top mid tier frat and a girl in a top mid tier sorority that are amongst the wealthiest at Duke..... but guess what, it doesn't define them and they don't use it as a talking point... they are both extremely well liked because they are have great personalities and are extremely funny cute and nice.....

To say that wealth is not a major factor for greek division is absolutely ridiculous. Ideally, it doesn't matter, but you can see clearly class distinctions in every different frat or sorority. Sure, there are wealthy people even in bottom tier groups, but for a large portion of what it is, it is very much divided. Notice how everyone in AdPhi has multi-millionaire parents? KSig has just about wealthy families? Pike hardly has many wealthy or any super wealthy families?

You can't be oblivious to the obvious distinctions, not only that - you are clearly blind to what Duke is and living in your own ideals. It doesn't define you, sure, but let's face it, it's the reason everyone in AdPhi is rich and so on - you can't possibly deny that. It doesn't matter if they use it as a talking point, it's what the frats and sororities pay attention to in top groups. Good on them for not using it as a talking point, but you can't deny that the frats themselves are looking for that in top groups.

I see your point somewhat but many guys in Dsig or KA are not rich by Duke standards and they are " top tier" and many girls in DDD are clearly not " rich " by Duke terms so someone definitely did not do their research if wealth was a factor lol...

Top tier may seek wealth but wealth doesn't always seek top tier so if wealth is a factor just know plenty of mid tier have more wealth lol

Why do you think it’s relevant to bring up some small town in New Jersey. Just goes to show how these kids are all talk and don’t actually come from wealthy areas; I’m happier not running in their poorer circles.

As a member of SNu in the past, I want to say the wealth thing is mostly a facade. I can say this as I'm not revealing myself, but there have been actual talks on how to appear wealthy. Yes there are some wealthy, but mostly, not really.
