theres no denying that pi phi has dropped and aphi has risen, but does this mean that there's a core 4? Or a split middle tier with pi phi and aphi as the upper mid??

There is barely any true difference between "middle/top" tier sororities. The concept of the Key 3 is literally just kept in place by the top fraternities and a few social climby girls
