sophomore rush
by: ScrewedOkay Duke's cattiest people, I have a question. So I kinda got screwed by rush by only rushing a couple frats that I didn't get dirty rushed for. Long story short, it looks like I'm independent for the semester. I promise I'm not too weird or a total loser (or maybe I am considering I'm asking for advice via Greek rank), so what are my chances at informally rushing in the fall or formal rush next year as a Sophomore? Especially if I have friends in the frats I'd try to do that for?

Hey. I rushed formally as a sophomore so can give you some perspective. You'll have a much harder time getting a bid at the top and mid tier frats... just how it is. However, go ahead and find one where you feel like you fit in. If you have friends in there and they feel the same way... that you would "fit in" well with the group of guys then you'll be fine. Being independent is not bad, but I'm hella glad I rushed. Worth it in the end. Just take the extra time and find the place that's right for you.
