what is hazing like for frats?

hey, i am rushing but i am nervous about what the hazing is like...how bad is it here? thanks!

You join ADPhi, in which case you'll probably be fine but may need to drop to survive. Duke hazing is pretty hard, but there's is brutal.

How do people know who has the worst pledging? Don't the frats keep it secret?

KA has just as bad pledging as ADPhi, and Ksig is worse than both KA and ADPhi

You will be fine, it's not that bad no matter where you go. Some organizations like to come on here and brag about hazing because they think it makes them sound cool. Kinda sad honestly.

Honestly, I had boys in all of the top frats and none of it sounded easy. Pledging is designed so that you can do it (almost everyone does) and you really will be fine. If you are seriously having problems, just speak to your pledge master about it. Pledging is designed to make you brothers, not to ruin your life, and every frat on campus understands this.

KA ended pledging early last year because they had the lowest GPA of any freshman class and their pledges were becoming very stressed

Certain frats don't haze because they don't believe in the practice. They still go through a pledge process, but not one that intentionally destroys new members. Rather, they try to build up community. Ask brothers during rush, most will say "oh we don't haze" but it's up to you to figure out which ones are hiding it.

Ask them before. I've heard ksig doesn't haze. I've heard phidelt is just a dinner and that's it. Beyond that ask a duke official that your concerned and want to know more about who gazes and make the rig b4 choice of your bids. Cause you don't want to rush a frat to have ten haze, when you could pick a non hazing frat.

I think pike is hazing. And if any frat gazes report it. Honestly I'd not rush any frat unless they answer they don't haze. If they lie report them asap if anything's sketch. Ask a duke officer that you believe many feats haze this is not Okk

Can tell from experience that KA pledging is very manageable. I was concerned with how my grades would turn out after hearing horror stories from friends at other schools, but it turned out to be pretty rewarding. Based on what friends have told me, pledging difficulty goes like this:

Disclaimer: the traditionally African-American fraternities have far and away the worst pledge process.

1) KSig
2) ATO
3) AEPi
4) KA/DSig/SNu
