Is rushing as a junior or senior frowned upon?

It isn't frowned upon but I rushed as a junior and it didn't go so well. They have to meet an upperclassman quota but you are in competition with the sophomores and a record amount rushed this past fall. I am an attractive girl but got dropped from most houses because of my age when it comes down to it they are going to pick having a member in the chapter for 3 years vs. 2 years. The same thing happened to a bunch of other juniors that I meet who rushed they all ended up dropping out of rush. I ended up in a sorority not the one I wanted but I love my chapter now so it all worked out for the best. It was just a very defeating process because you think something is wrong with you when it is really just your age.

I know this is for sororities but in case any guys were wondering about rushing a frat as a junior/senior

It's not terribly uncommon, just try to make solid connections before rush starts so you have a leg up
