need advice

by: FSUgirl

I am currently in a sorority and it is not something I ever expected. I have made 0 close friends and haven't found a friend group either. I haven't been able to connect well with most of the girls I've met. It really freaking sucks. My big doesn't reach out much to spend time with me and I rarely ever see her. All we ever do is get yelled at during chapter for stupid things that most of the girls aren't even involved in. I hate going to the house to eat because it literally makes me uncomfortable with no one talking to me or wanting me to sit with them. I'm stuck in it until the end of this semester because I just paid almost 3,000. ANY advice would be appreciated.

If you like the idea of being in a sorority, then go out of your way to make friends with the new pledges, or the just-initiated class from fall. Create your own circle of mostly younger women. That will work and you will find that you enjoy the sorority.

Honestly, I wanted to drop until a little after initiation. I was scared because I didn't know whether I was going to like it or not but you have to make the conscious effort to get to know people. Coming from someone who is really shy, I know this can be difficult. Just keep trying, you will find a group of people that you get along with, I promise

It's a great decision for a lot of people. Sorority life is great, there's tons of opportunity for everyone but if you don't feel like it's your niche then it's perfectly okay! You have to give it a chance, you become so close with so many people in such a short amount of time. Those people are there for you and have your back no matter what
