Rush doesn't start until Tuesday so how are some fraternities pledging already?

No, I know that's not right. I just don't want to get left out. I know ATO and Pi Kapp and Pike and Kappa Sigma are all signing bids. My roommate signed last night.

That's called an "early spring" bid, it's a part of informal rush. The reception of a bid is not the beginning of "pledging" though.
