kappa sigma pledge class size?
by: apache helicopter
I am in awe. Did the Kappa Sigs really pledge 81 men this fall??
How big were the other pledge classes? Has any other Top Tier fraternity at FSU ever pulled that big a fall class?

I'm going to say one statement that will clear everything up. "Quality over quantity"
The "top tier" and "upper houses" tend to have smaller pledge classes around 35-45. To give you an idea, Chi Phi, ZBT, Pi Kapp, Phi Delt, Sig Ep, Pike, and ATO all had between 40-50 people in their classes. Looks like Kappa Sig was really desperate and gave out tons of bids. Maybe they can't afford their house after their million dollar renovations and needed more money coming in for dues? Or they wanted a larger chapter? Idk, but in my opinion the smaller the class the better. I'm sure they're down to about 60-65 now from people dropping/cutting, but still that's quite a large number.....

Pledge class size can mean many different things, but what I've noticed across the board is that medium to smaller PCs (anywhere between 25 and 45 pledges) have a stronger sense of comradery and have each other's backs better. Brotherhood in the pledge class is crucial to how the fraternity will stand after initiation. As for Kappa Sig, it could be possible they are trying to get numbers, considering they probably have the biggest PC. They definetly balled a lot of kids/had a lot of kids drop already.
