rush 16 advice
by: .I decided to wait until my sophomore year to rush and I know that they look at upper class men rushing differently than incoming freshman. As of right now I'm only involved in 1 campus organization and I feel like that's a red flag. What's a good number of organizations to get involved in and will there be more opportunities in the spring semester?

Rush16: no worries. If you're a likeable guy and social then you'll be just fine. Being in 1 club "only" isn't any kind of red flag at all. Do try to get to know diff ppl from diff houses and go do some parties if you can just to see their vibe and see if you like some of the guys. believe me at rush even in the top houses, dudes don't walk around with clipboards and resumes. Its more of gut feel thing than sororities, although you would be interviewed but thats just about what kind of guy you are, not like a job interview.

Use this year to figure out which frat is the bet fit for you, start hanging with the brothers, tell them of your interest for the fall, and maybe you'll get a nod for the fall. Some frats give summer bids, but they really aren't official until fall.
