sae thoughts

What are everyone's thoughts on SAE at FSU? I am a legacy here and considering rushing them. I know they aren't the most popular but if you look at their 1990s composite it is over a hundred solid guys then in 2000 they got kicked off and had about 40. I just want to know if they are worth my time and if they have the possibility of improving in the coming years. Do they have socials with good sororities, fun formals and stuff like that?

To be honest, SAE is not viewed very highly at this school. But as a traditionally southern fraternity at a not southern school, you can't really blame them. They're honestly a solid group of guys in my opinion, they're just different. It doesn't help they don't have a good house or good social calendar. If you like Old Row, KA and SAE are the only fraternities here that are like that. Every other fraternity is a bunch of TFM try hards. If anything rush SAE here and then transfer and reaffiliate at any SEC school where SAE is top.

SAE isn't bad here but it isn't SAE at UF by any means. I heard some football players being members at SAE here in the past

SAE was a top house in 2001 until they got kicked off for hazing. Nearly every good fraternity here has been kicked off at one time or another. I don't think KA has but they've come close.
SAE is a solid national and if you join here you can help build the local chapter back to high standing. There are only a few really weak fraternities here and SAE is not one of those. They're not bad.

to 'True' re the comment about SAE and football players. Yes, SAE has had their share here, and Nate Andrews is a brother now. They were never the "football fraternity" (i.e. Pike, Phi Delt), but they had some stars. Kevin (last name?) was captain of the 1999 national champion team, and Former Texas head coach Mack Brown was an E here back in the 1970s.

Until they can get a better house, they aren't moving up.

Pretty irrelevant. Maybe a random social with a good sorority every once in a while but not usually. They have some potential though.
