Are frats allowed to give out summer bids? Two of my friends got bids to two different fraternities this past weekend and I'm wondering if that's allowed

Yes, the IFC rush rules are open. They can issue bids for the fall pledge class. Not all fraternities care to do this; its up to them. No fraternity runs pledge programs in the summer. But yes, you can accept a bid anytime.

Nothing 'dirty' about it at all. Fraternities were issuing bids in the summer when my dad was here 30 years ago. I pledged in the summer. There's no rule against it. If any fraternity doesn't want to issue bids in the summer no one is making them.
