bid promising
by: 128686868752
One of the actives at ______ sorority told me that I am guaranteed a bid, that she looks forward to seeing me on the lawn on Bid Day, & that she can't wait to be my Big.
That honestly makes me very uncomfortable, bc I'm trying to give each & every house a chance, & to go into recruitment w/ an open mind.
Any thoughts/opinions as to what to do in this situation? I don't want to ruin my chances at other houses... =\

That is incredibly wrong to do and every Panhellenic woman knows that I would suggesting reporting it to Panhellenic - it won't necessarily get them in trouble, it will probably just get them a fine and serve as a reminder that it isn't fair to a PNM to do that, one because it makes them uncomfortable but two they actually can not do that.
However, I understand if you're not comfortable doing that. You should just remember to stick with keeping an open-mind about the houses, not letting that affect your decision, because you are in no way obligated to choose that house even after they said that.

She already told me how "disappointed in me" she'd be if I didn't pick her house. Which, whatever, but I really don't wanna screw up my chances elsewhere. Plus, she keeps telling me how "terrible" the other houses are, how "lame" they are, etc... & I'm of the opinion that every house has something to offer, not only to the Greek community, but to the FSU community as well. Not to mention, philanthropy! (I'm H U G E on philanthropy!)

Well, that escalated quickly... All that catfighting is not a pleasant look, ladies!
Tell Panhellenic if she continues to bother you. If it's a one-time thing, eh, I'd probably let it slide, since people tend to get excited around this time of the year.
Otherwise, if she continues to bother you and make you feel uncomfortable, I would discreetly mention it to the PanHellenic office. You don't want to continue to be bothered & made to feel uncomfortable.
