courting

Can someone explain what courting is? I don't really understand the point and it seems like that there are different types. Like I've heard fraternity guys will go to a sorority house and sing but I've also heard other frats do really huge things that are absolutely wild. What does each frat do/have done that stands out? Do they do the same thing or switch it up? Sorry just new to all of this

Courting is when the men of a fraternity do something kind for a sorority of sing to them and bring flowers to build better relations.
