sorority rush

by:

What do the good sororities look for at FSU during rush? I'm talking top tier and upper mid, but please don't list looks or superficial things because I know they look for more. So like advice for rush and how to/not to act, ect... Thought other PNM's would benefit from this too

You shouldn't rush if you're already narrowing down your search. You're supposed to go into rush with an open mind and figure out who you like when you're there

Personally I hope a top tier sorority doesn't give you a bid just for this post. I hope you end up in a sorority that you love and you'll look back on this post and realize how narrow minded this question is. If you think you'll only have fun or enjoy being in a "top tier" or even settling for "upper mid" like you say....you're strongly mistaken and shouldn't bother wasting any sororities time come rush. Harsh reality, PNM, but this isn't high school anymore where status mattered.

She won't get a bid with this attitude, so no worries. It'll take care of itself. People that rush with preconceived ideas and narrowed down options are always disappointed in recruitment

I'm in whats considered a "top tier" sorority on this site and heres some advice for rush...If my sisters or I ever found out a girl was only rushing us for status they would be dropped so quickly they wouldnt even realize what hit them. Rush for the right reasons or dont rush at all.

You can't blame any pnm for wanting to be top tier. No one wants to be in a sorority that's known for the wrong things, like being bottom. It's natural. But with that being said, don't only rush for status and don't be fake.

Many times "miss thing" from HS comes to rush with the attitude that she will only join upper or mid upper houses only. There is no way that they won't all want her on their bid list- she was SGA VP in HS, on the homecoming court, single handedly raised money to support an orphan oveseas, blah, blah, blah. Well guess what? A good 90% of the PNMs have similar resumes' and they all want the top two tiers of sororities, but they all can't join those few. That is what people are telling you to get off your high horse. In those sororities eyes you might be in the 89 percentile. Better to be open to accepting a bid from any chapter at the beginning and see how it goes. You may have to humble yourself.

"tiers" aren't even real, theyre something that guys made up to rank us. Literally just be yourself, because I can say from being on both sides or recruitment the best conversations / most memorable girls were ones that were real & I made a connection with
