sorority rush
by: NolesIf you have a not so good GPA and want to rush is that going to affect you getting a bid? I had a lot of family and personal problems that can be explained as to why my grades had a sudden drop, and some of those courses were forgiven by FSU because I got proper documentation. Do sororities look past the lower GPA for an extenuating circumstance like that? I just want to get back on track now that my personal problems are resolved and think rushing is a step in the right direction to keep me on track and focused. Thank you for the help!

It's a 2.65 GPA. and please don't give me your negativity. If I'm in a sorority I will have forced study hours and need to have a higher GPA to keep up with my sorority requirements. Plus I'll have sisters that will be able to help me with tutoring or other resources that I don't really have now, so I only see the positives in bettering myself

I totally agree it's a low GPA for a freshman, and I have plenty of qualities to contribute to the sorority as well. I had a 4.2 GPA in high school and participated in tons of extra curriculars and had work experience. I played 4 different sports, two of which receiving MVP season rewards. Honestly it was just my freshmen year that something happened with my family and I had to leave Tallahassee often. Grades were not my first priority because of my family problem, which I'm willing to explain to sororities. I guess it could go either way, but I would still like to try to rush this fall. I don't really want something that was totally out of my control to dictate how an entire year goes
