which sorority?
by: Incoming FreshmenI'll be rushing this fall and I'm super excited but I wanted to get some background on the sororities. I'm a legacy for Gamma Phi Beta (mom), Chi Omega (sister), and Alpha Chi Omega (sister). Can you guys give me any advice on the reputation of these sororities at FSU and what their tiers are? I want to keep my options open during recruitment but I would also love to be a legacy somewhere.

legacy does matter to a lot of sororities. Some girls get bids simply because they have sisters in it. But to be completely honest, this doesn't mean you belong in that sorority. Actually, you will probably end up unhappy if you pick because of this. You have to pick in terms of the one you feel most at home at among the 17 different chapters. It's cheesy, but trust your heart

please please please do not think about this stuff during recruitment. go into it with no predispositions and just try to make friends with everyone you talk to. don't try to impress them or be who you think they want you to. this is about friends and I promise if you consider anything but who YOU truly vibe with, it wont go well. the best possible thing you can get out of being in a sorority is YOUR people but it only works if you're you

If your legacy status comes from somewhere else and not a chapter here, it will not matter in the least. Chapters here could fill whole houses with just legacies and that's why it really doesn't count any longer. You are in for a BAD recruitment with a tier mindset, especially coupled with legacy in your brain. Forget both and you will do much better.
