I was extremely involved in HS, played sports, and had many friends. I was dirty rushed by some of the top sororities during summer, but then after the first round of ice waters, I was dropped by DDD, KD, and DG (my top 3, BTW)..all in one day. After the next two rounds, I had been dropped by ZTA and ADPI. Why is rush so competitive and why do sororities make such harsh cuts ?? I'm scared to go through this year and have the same thing happen to me.

No one can tell you why each group dropped you or why you were dropped by all of your top choices so fast. This is private information that only each house knows. You have to remember that over one thousand girls go through recruitment and each of them come with great resumes. You only get to know the girls in the houses for a very short time and they have a criteria in which each decision is being made. It is really that competitive.

What are you complaining about!!! You weren't dropped by every single sorority, only a fraction of them. If you have your heart set on a certain sorority, you will almost always be setting yourself up for disappointment. Maybe you wouldn't have been in good fit in any of those houses? Did you ever consider that AXO and XO are super athletic houses and also great contenders? PNMs need to stop thinking they are entitled to a certain "stereotype" of houses and realize that if KD, DDD, DG, and ZTA drop you, it's not the end of the world. If they didn't want you in their house, you probably wouldn't have fit in anyway.

agreed with below. you also have to remember that each house has criteria that they have to meet, as decided by their nationals. for example. some houses have to take a certain number of their legacies, some houses can only take girls that meet a certain GPA requirement and may only be allowed to take a small number that don't. some houses are only allowed to take a very slim number that aren't freshmen. also some houses have harsher criteria in general.

that being said, there are hundreds of amazing girls going through recruitment. maybe you just didn't click as well with the girl who rushed you, sometimes getting through certain rounds is the luck of the draw, but if it's not meant to be it's not meant to be. if you make it to pref, that is when it makes the difference.

it is hard to make sense of a rush situation. i still wonder why some houses dropped me! maybe i just didn't fit in there as well. you just have to let it happen and be yourself :)

DG has a slim amount of virgins if any in there sorority and the same with DDD. ZTA and KD have the prettiest girls that are still virgins.

If you're wanting to join a house based on the # of virgins, you are much better suited on not joining greek life. NO ONE CARES if you're a virgin or not!

No one I know, in any sorority, runs around talking about being a virgin or not. Stop playing games on here and get a life. Grow up.

These questions are getting ridiculous. My faith in this year's PC's is diminishing rapidly. I hope these are fake PNMs.
