these ratings are based on opinion probably posted by sorority girls that like or dislike each other. is there anyone where i could find rankings made by the school determined by the amount of participation etc.

The top tier houses look for a combination of so many things and it is somewhat private information. To be frank, one may value grades more, one values activies, one may value looks/appearance more, to another it may be something materlialistic. It is too hard to generalize. Be yourself and don't worry. You will fall into the group you belong to be in.
