DG.
by: PNMI follow all the sororities on social media and noticed that DG is remodeling their house and it will not be ready till Aug 24. What does that mean? Where will they meet? Will they still have meals together? I always heard this is the best part of a sorority and how the new sisters meet everyone. Does anyone know how that works?

I want a house I can go to between classes, eat meals, and just hang out in the evenings to meet sisters, especially my first year in a sorority. So unless they are renting another place to do all this it don’t think it would work for me. I don’t know anyone coming from out of state.

Oh come on y'all, no sorority goes through a major renovation without thinking these things through and securing spaces for rush, meetings, and meals ahead of time. I am not a DG and don't know their specifics but this has definitely been thought through. They have a house corporation board and assistance from their national housing office. They'll explain it during rush.

DG has thought this all through and will explain more as rush gets closer. Pledges will still have a place to be together while the renovations are being completed and when spring rolls around they’ll have one of the nicest houses on campus. There’s no way they would let this impact recruitment.

I think the question and the PNM’s feelings is valid. It’s very difficult to meet new sisters if you don’t have a place to gather, especially meals or in the evenings. The sorority house is the central hub for this. If you are a returning duster you already have a friend group. PNMs are looking for a place to call home and an easier way to meet everyone (the house and meals).
