hey!! so here’s what’s up. DG and theta were both supposed to participate in COB this year. unfortunately, panhellenic said no to both. I know theta was related more to the median chapter size already being too big, and im not sure about DG. DG actually found out recently that they weren’t allowed to participate, but not really sure why. This can change at any moment though! Sometimes it’s not whether “they want/need to or not”, it’s more about panhellenic’s decision about quota.

Quota is the wrong term here. Every semester, panhellenic resets the Chapter Membership Total, which is the not-to-exceed total membership of any chapter on campus. Any house under that semester's Total can offer bids. Houses who thought they were eligible to COB going by last semester's Total found out they weren't under the new Total, or they were eligible but only by a few spots and they went ahead and offered those bids so are now full. Houses that had a good number of spots open would def still have spots even after Total is reset, the only question would be exactly how many. So all chapters have to wait until the new Total is set to find out how many bids they can give out, if at all. As far as changing at any moment, when a house has filled their spots they have to stop offering bids.

what do you mean by “change at any time”? would they be able to decide to do cob after spring or after orientation starts if they want to? just want to know because i was interested in one of these chapters and was really confused when they decided to not to cob.
