How many dropped out?

by:

How many girls (or the percentage) dropped out of recruitment this year? It seemed like a lot. It also seemed like a lot did a suicide bid and got nothing.

I was told over 35 percent dropped out or were dropped completely.

The rush system is very intense and a lot of PNMs get dead set on one house.

So many girls that are full of themselves. Think they are too good for certain houses, when they don't even give it a chance. Out of a couple of hundred girls, you would think you could find your friend group.

^^^^So true. So many girls who were the big fish in a little pond in high school - think they are too good for some houses. Big awakening...

Since girls can not drop houses they rank them. When your bottom houses become your last choices - you would have basically dropped those houses anyway if you could have - you are done. It doesn't matter who the houses on the bottom of your list were.

What you all want to ignore is that if 3 out of 10 girls are dropping, that means almost all the houses only think the other 7 are worthy of their house. Those are shocking numbers. What it means is that houses are all chasing the same girls and the "process" is trying to allocate the leftovers. Sorry to tell you that 30% of the girls aren't gonna put up with that.

23% dropped out, the usual percentage.
1,660 PNM minus 23% = 1,278
1,278 PNM divided by 17 chapters = 75 quota+/-

Usual past PCs have averaged 85+ so def fewer girls rushing than in previous years

Greek life at FSU is like 20% of the students. It’s honestly not a big of a deal.

Affinity organizations like Greeks, Marching Chiefs, athletic teams and more strengthen the campus experience. It IS a big deal!

Greek life is only a big deal to those in Greek life which at FSU is 20%. Again, not a big deal to be greek.

Wrong. If you raise money for the university, Greek alumni are a big deal. A real big deal.

Greek Life student might be only 20% of students but Greek Life alumni are a disproportionate portion of the donations to the school. They are also the most socially connected and influential students.

I imagine girls sitting around talking about PNMs Instagram pages... that is what Panhellenic has become.

I think girls not in sororities are way cooler personally.

It is not the failure of the sororities, rather it is the failure of the PNMs to not realize when they are not top tier girls.

pan needs to make recruitment a less intense process and allow pnms to have more free choice

By: recruitment reform
by: Why not?

Why not let the sororities take as many new members as they want? If hundreds of women dropped out, then start a new sorority, or let the big ones grow and prosper.

to be fair to all houses and pnm's it is very important girls visit ALL houses before making a decision. The process does work but unfortunately egos tend to be an issue by pnms. No one wants to be cut, but truth be told most pnms don't understand that the houses that actually invite you back are the ones that really want you...that's why this site can be very toxic with "ranks". Honestly with the exception of one house ALL of them are very very good.

Pnm's should be able to drop houses after round one. Dragging it out and trying to funnel girls into houses they don't want is idiotic. Hence, 3 out of 10 drop.

What you don’t seem to understand is joining a sorority is a privilege not an entitlement. The truth is the house picks you and hopefully that’s a mutual choice. Girls that go through the entire process without judgement and who are truly open to sisterhood primarily end up with a good match.. those who think they deserve a certain house definitely will be disappointed

Would be interesting to see the active member drop percentages from each house. That would be quite telling on how these girls choose their members and also what the real sisterhood is on the inside, not the Instagram sisterhood they want to pretend to be
