Rush advice for guys

by:

- Never discredit a frat cause of the ‘rank’ it’s better to be at a “lower” house where you fit in than sneak your way into an “upper” house where you don’t vibe with the guys. I’m in an “upper” house and I’ve seen a couple of guys go inactive because they didn’t find people who were like them

- Ask older girls at FSU what frats they think have them best brotherhood and go based off of there. You don’t realize how important brotherhood is over whatever rank. It’s so important to feel like you are in a community rather than just a group that parties together

- Tour every house. It’s cool to see the inside of every house even if you don’t think you will go there

- Don’t give the size of the house too much weight. You are there for the brotherhood ultimately, not a big house

- During rush don’t overact like you are super sick, just be yourself. We can generally tell the vibe of a kid and can tell if you are posing as something you aren’t

I agree with the above, except asking girls about 'brotherhood'. Girls don't have a clue about fraternity 'brotherhood'. Men are attracted to the manly things about fraternities. Girls are attracted to entirely different things in sororities.
The OP is right: tour every house and don't try to be someone you're not.

I have seen this happen to so many girls in sorority recruitment. They take a bid from a “top” sorority over one that they fit in better with because they want to be a higher rank. Then they just wind up dropping a semester later.
