Beta v SigEp. Who’s the most lame?

SigEp tends to attract the kind of guy who wants more than a drinking club out of his fraternity. Students go to college to develop personally and professionally. Some other fraternities put members in situations that harm rather than help those goals. But SigEp's substance-free fraternity experience provides a very conducive social support ecosystem for doing what students go to college to do.

SigEp national spends too much time on this site posting the same BS on every school discussion board. Get a life gentlemen.

If you’re lucky you’ll get into the fraternity that fits your view of yourself and the things that make you happy. Some girls will say they can tell if a PNM fits into KA just by the way he looks and acts. All the best fraternities offer good things, but not all the best fraternities offer the same things. Sig Ep and Beta are definitely not KA and SAE, but they’re all good fraternities.

SigEp stands out as a forward-thinking fraternity in all issues, including gender. SigEp has traditionally treated gender as binary, when we live in a world with increasing awareness that gender is not always binary. SigEp’s membership is currently restricted those persons who identify as male, but there is limited space in Greek communities across the country for non-binary individuals to engage. SigEp is convening a task force to explore removing any screening of gender from its membership criteria and this would also expand SigEp’s recruitment pool.

I don’t see this being acceptable at FSU, where SPE is a good traditional fraternity. But their national is headed for a train wreck with all the gender-bender stuff. So Sig Ep is now pledge-free, tobacco-free, Alcohol-free, and now gender-free. What’s the point? That’s not really a fraternity anymore.
Sig Ep at FSU is good, and they should avoid their national’s destructive policies.
