Top tier sorority requirement only to be skinny?

I’ve been thinking about rushing this Fall, but I’ve heard how in order to be called back from any of the higher tiered sororities, you need to be skinny. Is that actually true? I would hate to go in being cut from half just because I’m not a stick. I’m not overweight, but I do have a bit of a stomach unlike some of the other girls you see. Realistically, I just want to know what they look for

There are definitely some girls with a little stomach in the top tiers but it's either because they already know someone in the chapter or because they're well known/have a following. I'd say the main ones that are like this are Zeta, KD, Tri Delt, and DG.

well it’s sad that you only care about the top tier ones. clearly there are sorority girls that aren’t sticks, very few in top tiers and more in mid tiers. It shouldn’t matter what tier you get, as long as you wind up where you’re meant to be.

Hey there! Didn’t mean for my post to come out that way. I don’t only care about top tier, that’s why I posted my message. I want a fair chance to get to know girls from every chapter which is why I was nervous from being cut from half (the top tier ones) solely because of something like my weight. Sorry if it was interpreted as me not wanting any low tiers!

Looks matter to all houses but so do grades talents and personality. Focus on the girls you meet not on rank. Examine your reasons for joining a sorority. If status is first don’t rush. The prettiest thinnest girls get dropped because of grades and personality by all houses.

my best friend is in delta gamma, very high ranked, and she is not a stick and has some stomach on her too. u are good girl don't worry about the small things, be yourself! u will find ur home!!

Let’s be honest.. they basically took like 85 girls last Spring to get their numbers up because 50% of their house dropped.

If it is that important for you to be in a "skinny, top tier" sorority, you have a few months to get in better shape. With a goal to be in a top tier, you have something to strive for. Don't try to make the sororities be petty, when you are the one that comes across that way.

If, however, you are happy just the way you are, expand your horizons, and be open to any and all chapters. If you do, you will surely find the chapter that appreciates you for you.

Panhellenic rules require the “top rated” chapters to restrict the number of PNMs invited back in the first round. They don’t have the flexibility to take chances with PNMs who may not fit the stereotype.
