From an outsiders perspective

After reading all these “entertaining” discussions it’s clear that this is all just people who peaked in hs. Who f ing cares about rankings none of it matters. If it’s about parties stop trying to make yourself feel better anyone can get it rather you’re “top” or “bottom”. Stop acting like ranking matters you just miss being popular in hs. Get over yourself no one outside of Greek life knows you or will ever care about your pretty drama and needs to top ranked. Learn to live on the real world, stop ranking every day, cause no one cares. Just have fun and be nice, life is so much better this way.
Ps. If you’re running in here saying “oh just another alpha gam” bc apparently they are hated I’m not in a sorority. I was considering until I saw all this and it just really turned me away.

It's a judgment tool. I think of it like sports teams. Everyone has their team that they're on or root for. Every season, there's rankings for those who do well and those who don't. But guess what? At the end of the day, it doesn't matter, because there's always next season. They only serve their purpose for those who care about it and want to make judgments based on the groups' performances (going to a certain formal, tailgates, date functions, etc). Then it all starts over....
It doesn't matter, but to those who care (chapter execs, social chairs, homecoming committee), it matters. Granted there's only a select few who care, so the remainder of us are just here for the anonymous judgment, gossip, and entertainment.

But the issue is it’s not even entertaining anyone it’s just so toxic. To the point where they are trying to hard to get another sorority kicked off of campus, it just seems like bullying at this point. It’s all just so sad and deeming and put a bad light in Greek life

I think the only bullying on here is posting peoples names and leaking images of them. That’s taking it way too far. Wanting to see a toxic chapter leave isn’t too bad, but Greek life will always have a sense of toxicity that masks as pan love. It’s always existed but portrays in different ways. The KD situation, alpha gam disbanding, all the frat stuff.

The only real inconsistency in the rankings seems to be the mid tier ranks . Honestly most would agree those you mentioned are top regardless of order🤪
