fraternity comments

Sadly, it's true. The bigger the house, the better the frat, with some exceptions of course: some frats with houses suck (SN, Pi Kapp, FIJI, Chi Phi) and a couple of the HG apartment frats are decent (Phi Tau and K Sig). And after PIKE and LXA, I'd rank Delt, EX, and KA before ranking Phi Delt who has the 2nd biggest house on campus. Maybe that will change when their house is FINALLY finished and has letters on it...

Tau Ep pretty much rules the frat scene at FSU - best parties AND hottest girls. There's a lot of haters, because while many can meet the financial background requirements, many cannot trace their ancestry back to the pre-civil war south. Sure, some KA with money who was born in Florida (the south) wants in. But tracing your roots back to New Jersey in the Bill Clinton administration just doesn't cut it for Tau Ep.

Yes, its going to be interesting to see the Fiji story play out. But I don't agree that a great house makes a great fraternity. Delt Tau Delta has a small house but they're good. Phi K. Tau has a ranch house in the Grove and they're big, and good.

I agree... I don't agree that a house necessarily makes a great fraternity. Phi Tau is a very good fraternity (at least the best w/o a traditional house) and Chi Phi, TEP, and SN aren't bad but definitely not on Phi Tau and K Sig's level.

LOL at the Ranch House name for HG frats. That's classic! And to all of the house comments, I wouldn't say NOT having a house makes you a sucky frat, just saying that those with the bigger houses usually are the fraternities everyone's talking about and joining. Nothing against the HG Ranch House frats. It's just that you're overshadowed which is why no one talks or cares much about you.

The house next to pots is definitely going to help them out alot in every aspect. Knowing a couple of the guys they seem like they are pretty laid back and generally good guys, so it can it can only help them go up, props to them! Really FSU male greek life is fairly solid top to bottom. It has a place for every person which is really what its about. Hopefully all the groups that just got back on campus are able to make a strong comeback and strengthen the community further.

Something else to consider, which would have to be the presidents getting involved would be a IFC wide fund raiser of some sorts. Getting alot of these guys involved with each other in none competitive manner will not only help us as group, but will probably eliminate most of the misconceptions that are floating around

Strongly agree with the first paragraph below. Fiji will become a strong fraternity, added to all the other strong chapters on this campus. Yes, ATO and SAE and Pi Kapp will probably come back strong too.

Disagree with #2 paragraph. Do somehting besides a 'fundraiser'. Fraternities spend too much time on charity stuff now as it is.

Never met a cool Fiji. Basically they will be the same tools in a nice house.
