5th year?
by: PNMI’m not sure if this is a dumb question but I can’t find the answer anywhere. Can you be in a sorority for more than four years? I’m planning to graduate on time but what if I switch my major halfway through and have to go longer for some reason. Can you be in a sorority for five years? Is that OK or is there some rule against it or is each sorority and case different?

Every sorority will address this situation in their chapter bylaws and/or national policies. Some will allow it if the chapter votes to let someone continue on for a fifth year, others it will be a "no," others may leave the decision up to the chapter advisor, etc. It all depends on the sorority and their rules.
