Yep, Tep and DX both got shut down at UF. And I heard through the Greekvine that 3 more fraternities at UF are facing suspension as well.

My HS friend (DZ) goes to UF and she told me that 2 fraternities (Tep & DX) were closed last semester and currently 3 fraternities (AEPi, Chi Phi and Pi Kapps) are probably getting suspended due to serious hazing allegations. It looks like UF is now experiencing problems with their fraternities now.

GOOD. It's about time UF Greeks starts getting some negative publicity on them. FSU had its share of negative publicity last school year.

OK I'm not a Lambda chi. I have older relatives who were.
When a new chapter starts they don't include the old undergraduates back in. Sucks when you chapter isn't there for alumni events.

With all of the different greek organizations getting kicked off/suspended I find it hard to believe that OFSL and administration are looking to add more chapters. Additionally, the processes to get a chapter on campus is a lengthy one so the rest of the greek community would be well aware if something like this was actually going on.

You do know don't you that any fraternity can come on at any time and apply for status as a recognized student organization? It doesn't happen very often but it has happened here at FSU and the university has no right to keep them out or to require them to be in the IFC or MGAC.

And lately their have been several schools where fraternities are disaffiliating with IFC and school and operating as an independent council. Fraternities at UColorado- Boulder are not recognized by the school for years and it works out great for them and the same thing just happen at UMichigan and West Virginia Univ.
