fraternity rush

I will be a freshman this Fall and from out-of-state- up north. I have friends who go to Georgia and Alabama. Does FSU start rush in the summer. I was told all the good fraternities already have their pledge classes full by August at those schools. Is it the same here?

Not technically but Summer bids are usually are given out (up to ten) and before rush a good half of the pledge class will already be known by the time formal rush starts (this is for top tiers)
